The COUNTRY WINNERS of the ASEAN Green Award 2015 is announced as follow:

All 10 Country Winners will enter our final stage of contest for the Grand Award, which will be announced during the  Award Giving Ceremony and Gala  Dinner to be held on 30 Nov 2015 at Shangri-la Hotel, Kuala Lumpur


ASEAN Green Award 2015

After the successful Green Award in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014, the MCCC and AAET are pleased to to co-organize the  ASEAN Green Award 2015 . The objective of MCCC-AAET Green Award 2013 is to recognize the outstanding  young green technopreneurs  and  young contributors  to the  Green Growth  in the ASEAN region. The Award is open for nomination to  individuals aged 40 and below  in the ASEAN Member States, who are making a difference to our environment or promoting sustainable development through their contribution in  one or more  of the following categories:

MCCC-AAET Green Award 201 4

The Award Giving Ceremony and Gala Dinner of the MCCC-AAET Green Award 2014 was successfully held on 24 Nov 2014 at Shangri-la Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The event was attended by Ambassadors or diplomats of ASEAN countries, governmental officers, business communities, technologists, scientists and NGOs from the ASEAN region.

The objective of the MCCC-AAET Green Award is to recognize the outstanding  young green technopreneurs  and  young contributors  to the  Green Growth  in the ASEAN region, who are making a difference to our environment or promoting sustainable development through their contribution in  one or more  of the following categories:

  • Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions/ Improving air quality
  • Protecting land/water resources and biodiversity
  • Minimizing waste
  • Green Entrepreneur/Manager 
  • Promoting green concept or environmental sustainability in the media
  • Community action for the environment: volunteer and member in non-profit organization

GRAND WINNER, 1ST & 2ND RUNNER-UPS FOR 2014


GRAND WINNER: MS QUEENIE CHONG CHIN YEE, BRUNEI. 

Education officer in Ministry of Education, Brunei

The judges are impressed with Ms Queenie Chong’s role as a teacher who is passionate about raising awareness in environmental issues to young students through education. For a young person, her efforts in establishing recycling and conservation clubs in schools and mobilizing people on local environmental issues using the social media is exemplary.

 

1st RUNNER-UP: MR ALWIN LONG SU WENG, MALAYSIA.

CEO of ATECH, Malaysia

Alwin Long is a young and successful technopreneur actively promoting the R&D and commercialization of low carbon building materials. He is also an active advocator for sustainable living concepts and green entrepreneurship through various camps, conferences, lectures, training and NGO activities.

 

2nd RUNNER-UP: OPHATH SENGMANY, LAOS. 

Researcher in land, water and biodiversity protection, OCORP Consulting Company

Ophath SEGMANY is an environmental consultant who has actively participated in various projects undertaken by universities, governmental departments and INGO on salty soil treatment, water resources and biodiversity protection in Laos.
